안녕하세요 여러분! 잘지네세요? 어떻게
지넸어요?
좋다!
Well, thats enough of that! Tiring me out!
Well, this week has been great! Filled with some ups
and downs and all arounds! Learned a lot, and want to share it. But
first!
#HestheGift Probably seen this a lot haven't
you? The First Presidency is really pushing this movie to everyone!
Bought some advertising on times square and the banner on youtube on the
7th! Our mission president has given each of us a copy of it along with
several other mormon messages and we have taken to the streets and are trying
to #Sharethegift. It has been awesome, we take protable dvd players out
and just play the video for people as we are walking down the street.
They love it, others hate it. Some people learn something new (Like that
Christmas is about Jesus). Others just stare blankly and dont understand,
but everyone feels the SPIRIT!!! I highly advise everyone to watch and share it
with as many people as you can. And if you ahve watched and shared it,
keep trying!!! Just sharing it once is not enough, He is the GIFT!!!!
This is eternal life on the line and if we aren't willing to share it with everyone,
then why should we receive it to begin with? Have fun, be creative!!!
Also, something in the video really stuck out to me, in
english it says, "He is the Christ" but in Korean it is "그ㄴ
바로
그리스도입니다"
Sort of the same, but much stronger. The word 바로
can be translated as directly, or exactly. So they arent just saying he
is the Christ, but he is Exactly the Christ. It's amazing how much our
perception of things changes as we change the language we view it in.
Lately reading the scriptures in Korean has changed my perspective on
things in them. We receive different insights through the translation
that we have of the book of mormon and the bible. Even though sometimes
its really hard to read and understand, we can gain so much from it.
Korean has been having that impact on me lately. And also I have been
forgetting my english too.... bummer. Probably won't be able to speak by
the time I get back.
Something else that happened this week was quite
amazing. We hold a mutual-esque thing for the youth of the ward.
And we had planned out an activity for them and then some stuff happened and
next thing you know me and Elder Garff are on opposite sides of a problem
trying to come to a solution. Well, we had to think of something quick,
and we didnt want to talk. Something Ive been saying lately is that
"The Spirit is grieved" and boy was it greived. and we
had a teaching appointment in 15 minutes. He had the idea of praying to
help us resolve the situation in the best manner. So we went and prayed
and immediately both knew how to reach the best solution. And it
worked. And the Spirit came back faster than you could say Amen. So
moral of the story: Prayer. I highly recommend it!
I also testified yesterday in sacrament meeting about the trials
of life. Joseph smith had a lot and God knew and said this to him:
5 If thou art called to pass through tribulation; if thou art in perils among false brethren; if thou art in perils among robbers; if thou
art in perils by land or by sea;
6 If thou art accused with all manner of false accusations; if thine enemies fall upon thee; if they tear thee from the society of thy
father and mother and brethren and sisters; and if with a drawn
sword thine enemies tear thee from the bosom of thy wife, and of
thine offspring, and thine elder son, although but six years of age, shall cling to thy garments, and shall say, My father, my father, why can’t you stay with us? O, my father, what are the men going
to do with you? and if then he shall be thrust from thee by the
sword, and thou be dragged to prison, and thine enemies prowl
around thee like wolves for the blood of the lamb;
7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be
cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; iffierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all,if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.
But nevertheless, deep water is
what I am wont to swim in.
D&C
122:5-7 and 127:2
What a powerful lesson to learn from someone who was going
through much worse than I was. And who wasnt even as close as Job, or
especially Jesus!! I know that we are given deep water to swim through
for our benefit and instruction. I know that only in the deepest of
waters is where we learn lifes greatest lessons. For example, on a
mission! It definitely changes your life!
Other than that not a different week. Finished the
Doctrine and Covenantes cover to cover for the first time yesterday and started
the Pearl of Great Price. What a wonderful experience and for those that
havent dont it I highly recommend that as well. You can learn some great
and crazy stuff from it! Also, studying a little bit of church history is
great too!
Well, I hope everyone had a great week and is sharing the
gift with as many people as possible! Enjoy the holiday season, but make
sure to remember the real reason for the season!
